The weekend once again highlighted several African talents in Europe's top leagues and in Saudi Arabia. Between goals, assists and top-level performances, African internationals had a real impact on their teams' results.
Aubameyang, the boss at Villarreal
With Deportivo La Coruña, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the driving force behind the 3-2 win over Villarreal. The Gabonese striker scored the third goal in the 88th minute and provided two assists. He now has four goals in four La Liga matchdays.
Guirassy decisive once again
In the Bundesliga, Serhou Guirassy guided Dortmund to a 3-2 win over Hoffenheim. The Guinean forward scored in the 61st minute before setting up Fabio Silva five minutes later. He was deservedly named man of the match.
Ibrahim Maza also scored for Leverkusen against Union Berlin (4-0), while Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer took part in Mainz's attacking show against Hamburg (5-0).
Doumbia and Nuamah shine in France
In Ligue 1, Kamory Doumbia scored a brace with Brest against Le Havre (2-1). The Malian now has four goals in three matches.
In Lyon, Ernest Nuamah was involved in two goals against Auxerre (3-1), with one assist and one goal of his own.
Diao and Ilenikhena strike hard
In Italy, Assane Diao scored a brace in Como's convincing win over Genoa (4-1).
In Saudi Arabia, George Ilenikhena scored twice for Al-Ittihad in the 2-1 win over Al-Nassr in a big clash. Sadio Mané was lively despite the defeat, while Kalidou Koulibaly and Édouard Mendy delivered solid performances with their respective clubs.
Africa continues to make its mark on pitches across Europe and Saudi Arabia.
