Chroniqueur & Reporter · 31 août 2026

African football was once again in the spotlight on European pitches this weekend. Several international players and young talents from the continent delivered standout performances, with special mention for Ismaël Saibari, Gessime Yassine and Yassir Zabiri, all decisive with their clubs.

🇲🇦 Saibari, a dream debut with Bayern

For his first appearance in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, Ismaël Saibari immediately made an impression.

Coming on in the 61st minute against Stuttgart, the Moroccan international provided two assists in about thirty minutes during Bayern's win (5-1). Saibari first set up Aleksandar Pavlović before finding Luis Díaz with a superb through pass.

A particularly convincing start for the Moroccan, who is already showing his ability to bring creativity and efficiency to Bayern.

🇲🇦 Gessime Yassine turns the tide against Lens

With Strasbourg, Gessime Yassine was the main architect of the win over Lens (2-1).

Trailing after Lens opened the scoring, Strasbourg turned the match around thanks to a brace from the Moroccan winger, who scored his first two goals in Ligue 1.

A performance that confirms the young player's rise and his potential in the French championship.

🇲🇦 Zabiri, a hat-trick in 21 minutes

In Spain, Yassir Zabiri struck even harder. In his first start for Racing Santander, the Moroccan forward scored a hat-trick in just 21 minutes against Elche (3-2).

A spectacular start in Liga for the player on loan from Rennes, who has already delivered an important win for his new club.

🇨🇮 Yalcouyé scores his first goal with Brighton

In the Premier League, Malick Yalcouyé also found the back of the net. Starting for the first time this season with Brighton, the Ivorian scored his first Premier League goal against Chelsea.

Brighton ultimately lost 4-3, but the 20-year-old midfielder played a part in his team's comeback after a difficult start to the match.

🇨🇩 Wissa opens his account with Newcastle

Yoane Wissa also got his Premier League season underway. The Congolese forward scored Newcastle's second goal in their win (2-0) away at Tottenham.

An important goal for the Magpies' new forward, who thus begins his English adventure on a positive note.
