Bayern Munich wanted to get their Champions League campaign off to a strong start. They did it in style.

Long held back by a well-organised Bodø/Glimt side, the Bavarian club eventually cut loose after the break to win 5-0 at the Allianz Arena.

The first half tells a different story, though. Bayern dominate, settle into the Norwegian side's half, but come up against Nikita Haikin. Bodø/Glimt's goalkeeper repels several attempts and keeps his side in the match.

Then comes the release.

As early as the 47th minute, Jamal Musiala opens the scoring. The Norwegian lock has just been broken.

In the 61st minute, Harry Kane doubles the lead and gives the Bavarians more breathing room. Bodø/Glimt then start to suffer under Bayern's successive waves of attacks.

Alphonso Davies scores the third goal in the 77th minute.

Then comes the Michael Olise recital.

The French international scores for the first time in the 83rd minute, before returning in stoppage time to complete his brace and net Bayern's fifth goal in the 90+2nd minute.

Decisive twice within a matter of minutes, Olise stands out as the main architect of Bayern's late demonstration.

5-0.

Bayern therefore had to wait until the second half to turn their dominance into a demonstration. Olise finishes with a brace, Kane and Musiala also find the net, while Davies joins in the celebration.

For Bodø/Glimt, the scoreline is harsh given the first half. For Bayern, it is above all a first message sent to their rivals.
