AFCON 2027: CAF is already preparing the next major African football market

FootReporter · 23 août 2026

Ten months before the kick-off of AFCON 2027, the Confederation of African Football is entering a new phase of preparation. The competition, jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, will take place from 19 June to 17 July 2027.

Media rights and ticketing at the forefront

CAF has just launched a tender for the competition's media rights in sub-Saharan Africa. Interested broadcasters are now invited to submit their proposals as part of this process.

Another major project: ticketing. CAF is looking for a provider capable of handling the entire system, from the sales platform to operations related to control and access to venues. Applications must be submitted by no later than 2 September 2026 at 5pm, Cairo time.

Preparation extends across many areas

These two processes are part of a much broader preparation effort. CAF has also published tenders covering, among other things:

  • transport
  • accommodation
  • TV production
  • accreditation
  • volunteer management
  • VAR technology
  • access control

For Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, preparation for this AFCON is therefore gradually entering its operational phase.

AFCON 2027 is now also being prepared behind the scenes, with the setup of services that will support teams, media and fans throughout the competition.
