Cameroon did not just win the 2026 Women's AFCON. The Indomitable Lionesses also largely dominated the individual honours of this edition, confirming an overwhelming collective and personal superiority throughout the tournament.
Ngock, queen of the tournament 🏆
The most prestigious award goes to Monique Ngock. The Cameroonian midfielder was named best player of the competition, in recognition of her decisive influence on the journey of the new African champions. A choice that may nonetheless come as a surprise given the exceptional tournament produced by Michaely Bihina.
Bihina, best goalkeeper 🧤
Michaely Bihina ultimately received an honour befitting her campaign: the trophy for best goalkeeper of the tournament. Decisive in the semi-final against Morocco, she notably saved the penalty won by the Moroccans in extra time, before keeping out several attempts during the penalty shootout.
She therefore leaves the competition with two trophies: the continental title and that of best goalkeeper.
Temwa Chawinga retains the Golden Boot ⚽
Malawi leave without the title, but Temwa Chawinga departs Morocco with a top honour. The Malawian striker finishes as the competition's top scorer with five goals, confirming her central role in the Scorchers' historic run to the final.
Ngah Manga, heroine of the final ⭐
There is no forgetting Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga. The scorer of a brace in the final, she was named best player of the match after directly delivering the title to Cameroon. A performance that will remain etched in the history of this edition.
