FootReporter · 17 août 2026

Dion Lopy is moving on. At 24 years old, the Senegalese international midfielder is leaving Almería to sign with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. The transfer is now official.

Three seasons to make his mark

Lopy takes his leave after three seasons and 105 matches in the colours of the Andalusian club. Having arrived from Stade de Reims in 2023, he had gradually established himself as one of the key figures in Almería's midfield.

His departure carries a particular significance: the player had in fact recently extended his contract until 2030. The Spanish club ultimately agreed to let him leave for the Saudi Pro League.

A transfer at 13 million euros

According to information reported by Goal, Al-Ittihad will pay 13 million euros to secure the services of Lopy, who has committed to the Saudi club until 2030. Other sources had mentioned a deal that could rise to 19 million euros including bonuses.

For Al-Ittihad, who were looking to strengthen their midfield, the Senegalese player represents a targeted addition. He also becomes the club's first foreign signing of the summer.

A new challenge to seize

After spells in France and Spain, the midfielder who trained at the Oslo Football Académie in Dakar will now discover the Saudi Pro League, a championship that is attracting an increasing number of African players.

Dion Lopy has not yet reached the peak of his career. He has simply just changed his playing field.
