Emerse Faé will no longer be the head coach of Ivory Coast. The Ivorian Football Federation has decided to terminate his contract, according to several corroborating sources. An official decision that closes a significant chapter in Ivorian football.
Faé had taken the reins of the Elephants under particular circumstances, mid-way through the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, before guiding the national team to continental glory on home soil. That triumph naturally justified his confirmation on the Ivorian bench. His record therefore remains tied to that historic episode, regardless of how the rest of his tenure unfolded.
The FIF must now find a successor capable of maintaining the level reached during that triumphant AFCON. Ivory Coast is engaged in a qualification cycle for upcoming continental and global competitions. The choice of the next head coach is therefore set to be a major strategic matter for the federation.
