Endrick stays at Real Madrid: the Brazilian plays his hand under Mourinho

FootReporter · 16 août 2026

The saga is drawing to a close: Endrick is expected to remain at Real Madrid heading into the 2026-2027 season. After several weeks of speculation surrounding a new loan move, the Madrid club and the player have reportedly decided to continue their adventure together in the Spanish capital.

A file with many twists and turns

The path to this decision has not been straightforward, however. Off the back of a successful loan spell at Olympique Lyonnais in the second half of the season, the young Brazilian had attracted interest from several European clubs, including AS Roma and Aston Villa. The depth of attacking competition at Real, bolstered by the arrival of new profiles, legitimately fuelled questions about his future playing time.

But the tide has turned in recent days. According to several sources, including ESPN and L'Équipe, Endrick is now more likely to stay than to leave. The player himself is said to have made the call in favour of Madrid, with the ambition of winning a place in José Mourinho's squad.

A place to earn, no guarantees given

This choice comes with no certainty regarding playing time, however. Competition promises to be fierce, and the Brazilian's situation could be reassessed mid-season should his role remain a peripheral one. A loan departure is therefore not entirely ruled out further down the line.

For now, the message is clear: at 20 years old, Endrick is staying at Real Madrid and intends to play his hand. He will have a first half of the season to convince Mourinho that he has a rightful place in the Merengue attack.
