Iliman Ndiaye left Everton for Manchester City on the final day of the summer transfer window, in a deal estimated at around €70 to 75m. The Senegal international signed a five-year contract with the Citizens.
This transfer also benefits Olympique de Marseille, where Ndiaye had played during the 2023-2024 season before joining Everton in July 2023 for €19m, plus €2m in bonuses. During that sale, OM had negotiated a 10% sell-on clause on any future resale profit.

With an estimated profit of close to €50m, this clause should bring in around €5m for the Marseille club. OM will also benefit from FIFA's solidarity mechanism, worth around 0.5% of the transfer fee, since Ndiaye was under 23 during his time at Marseille. In total, the club should therefore recoup close to €5m.
But Ndiaye could already be making his first steps in his new colours. Manchester City face Coventry this Saturday, 5 September, at 4pm, at the Etihad Stadium, in the 3rd round of the Premier League season. The Senegalese forward is available and could be included in the squad, or even make his debut for the Citizens. Coach Enzo Maresca has been full of praise for him after his first training sessions.
A first appearance against Coventry would therefore mark the opening chapter of Ndiaye's Manchester adventure, while also allowing OM to financially benefit from their former gem.
