Jack Grealish returns to Everton to relaunch his season

FootReporter · 2 septembre 2026

Jack Grealish is set to return to Everton. The England international has been loaned out again by Manchester City to the Liverpool club for the 2026-2027 season.

This return comes after a promising first spell, which was interrupted by injury. Last season, Grealish quickly regained his influence in the Everton shirt, going on to win the Premier League player of the month award in August.

In 22 appearances across all competitions, he had scored two goals and provided six assists.

An attacking need after Ndiaye's departure

His return comes in a particular context. Everton has just lost Iliman Ndiaye, transferred to Manchester City, and needed an attacking solution. Grealish's return is therefore a direct response to that departure.

For Manchester City, this new year away from the Etihad also confirms that the former Aston Villa player still does not fit into the club's priority plans.

Finding consistency and playing time

At 30 years old, Grealish must now make the most of this new opportunity to regain consistency and playing time.

His first spell showed that he can still make a difference when playing in an environment that gives him freedom. Everton hopes to see the same player again this season.

Having lost Ndiaye, the Toffees have therefore brought back the player who helped make their attack more dangerous last season.
