2026-2027 Champions League: the draw live, minute by minute

Before the draw

The ceremony was held in Monaco, with an official start set for 4pm GMT before the draw itself began a few minutes later. It had already been made clear that the precise match calendar, with the order and dates, would only be announced on Saturday.

Another piece of information revealed beforehand: the final of the 2026-2027 Champions League will be played on Saturday 5 June 2027 at Atlético Madrid's stadium.

A ceremony marked by PSG

The evening began with a question posed straight away: can Paris Saint-Germain win a third consecutive Champions League title? UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin then officially opened the ceremony.

Several honours punctuated the start of the evening:

• Marquinhos, PSG captain, was rewarded for his fair play during last season's final.
• Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of the Paris club, collected the trophy on its behalf.
• Thierry Henry received the UEFA president's award, before discussing the keys to Paris's success.
• David Villa joined Thierry Henry for the rest of the ceremony.

The rules of the draw were then recalled: each club will play eight matches against eight different opponents, with four home games and four away.

Pot 1: the heavyweights take the stage

The draw began with the first pot, made up of PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Real Madrid opened proceedings by drawing Inter Milan, Arsenal, PSV, Roma, Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, LASK and AEK Athens.

Manchester City will face PSG, Barcelona, Sporting, Porto, Napoli, Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens.

Inter Milan will play against Liverpool, Real Madrid, Club Bruges, Dortmund, Shakhtar, Feyenoord, Stuttgart and Slovan Bratislava.

A highlight of the evening: the draw produced the PSG-Barça clash. The reigning European champions will also face Manchester City, two major fixtures for the Parisians. PSG's full schedule is as follows: FC Barcelona, Manchester City, AS Roma, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Villarreal, Slovan Bratislava and Como.

For its part, FC Barcelona will face Manchester City, PSG, Aston Villa, Sporting, Feyenoord, Galatasaray, Como and Sabah.

Atlético Madrid will play against Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, PSV, Fenerbahçe, Bodø/Glimt, Viking and Stuttgart.

Liverpool ends up with Lens in its group of opponents: Atlético, Inter, Porto, Club Bruges, Villarreal, Fenerbahçe, Lens and LASK.

Arsenal will host Lille: the Gunners will face Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague.

Bayern Munich also gets Lille on its schedule, along with Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, Betis, Manchester United, Bodø/Glimt, Slavia Prague and Viking.

Finally, LOSC knows its two opponents from pot 1: Bayern Munich and Arsenal, with a trip to the Emirates Stadium in store. Lens, meanwhile, will have to face Manchester City and Liverpool.

Pot 2: new fixtures take shape

The second pot was made up of Dortmund, AS Roma, Sporting CP, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Bruges, Real Betis Seville and PSV Eindhoven.

Club Bruges will meet Liverpool, Inter Milan, Aston Villa, PSV, Bodø/Glimt, Napoli, Lens and Stuttgart, giving Lens a trip to Belgium.

Borussia Dortmund will face Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Betis, Aston Villa, Villarreal, Bodø/Glimt, AEK Athens and Sabah.

FC Porto will play against Manchester City, Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven, Real Betis, Napoli, Feyenoord, Slavia Prague and LASK.

Aston Villa will get two prestigious fixtures, PSG and FC Barcelona, alongside Dortmund, Club Bruges, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Viking and Slavia Prague.

Real Betis will meet Arsenal and Bayern Munich, as well as Porto, Dortmund, Feyenoord, Lille, Como and Slovan Bratislava.

AS Roma will face Real Madrid and PSG, but also Sporting, Manchester United, Lille, Fenerbahçe, Slovan Bratislava and AEK Athens.

Manchester United now knows its opponents: Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid and AS Roma as the marquee names, alongside Sporting, Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como.

Sporting CP will play against Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as Roma, Galatasaray, Shakhtar, LASK and Lens.

PSV Eindhoven will face Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid among others, alongside Club Bruges, Porto, Shakhtar, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Viking.

Pot 3: Lille and the other French clubs

The third pot brought together Feyenoord, Lille, Bodø/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Fenerbahçe, Shakhtar Donetsk and Galatasaray.

Shakhtar Donetsk will face Real Madrid and Inter Milan among others, as well as Sporting, PSV, Fenerbahçe, Leipzig, AEK Athens and Slovan Bratislava.

Villarreal will play against PSG, Liverpool, Manchester United, Dortmund, Napoli, Fenerbahçe, Sabah and Slavia Prague.

Bodø/Glimt will face Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Club Bruges, Lille, Napoli, LASK and Lens, thereby meeting two French representatives.

RB Leipzig will face Manchester City and Real Madrid among others, along with PSV, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord, Lens and Como.

Feyenoord will play against Inter Milan, FC Barcelona, Porto, Real Betis, Leipzig, Galatasaray, Como and Viking.

Galatasaray gets two prestigious fixtures, FC Barcelona and PSG, alongside Aston Villa, Sporting CP, Feyenoord, Lille, Stuttgart and AEK Athens.

Finally, LOSC now knows its entire European schedule. The Dogues will face Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Betis, AS Roma, Galatasaray, Bodø/Glimt, Slovan Bratislava and Stuttgart, with two huge fixtures awaiting them against Bayern and Arsenal.

Pot 4: final pairings revealed

Napoli will have a tough schedule, with Arsenal and Manchester City as the marquee names, alongside Club Bruges, Porto, Bodø/Glimt, Villarreal, Viking and Sabah.

Slavia Prague will face Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, Porto, Villarreal, Fenerbahçe, Lens and Sabah.

Sabah, the draw's underdog from Azerbaijan, a club founded just nine years ago, is set to experience a major European campaign against several heavyweights: FC Barcelona, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Napoli, Villarreal, Slavia Prague and Viking.

VfB Stuttgart will face Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan, Club Bruges, PSV Eindhoven, Lille, Galatasaray, Viking and Slovan Bratislava.

Como 1907 gets several prestigious fixtures: PSG, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Betis, Leipzig, Feyenoord, AEK Athens and Lens.

AEK Athens will face Real Madrid and Manchester City among others, as well as Roma, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Shakhtar Donetsk, LASK and Como.

LASK now knows its eight opponents: Liverpool, Real Madrid, Porto, Sporting CP, Fenerbahçe, Bodø/Glimt, Slovan Bratislava and AEK Athens.

Finally, Viking completes its schedule against Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid, PSV Eindhoven, Aston Villa, Feyenoord, Napoli, Sabah and Stuttgart.

The draw is complete

At 5:16pm GMT, the draw was completed in Monaco. The 36 participating clubs now know their eight respective opponents for the league phase.

However, the full schedule is not yet known in detail: the dates, the order of matches and the precise distribution of fixtures will be revealed on Saturday, once UEFA has finalised the last details.
