Champions League: Barça cruise and send an early warning

FootReporter · 9 septembre 2026

FC Barcelona did not falter in their opening fixture. In front of their home crowd, the Catalan club comfortably dominated Feyenoord (5-1) and sent an early message to their rivals in this new European campaign.

An explosive start to the match

The Blaugrana immediately imposed their rhythm. As early as the 3rd minute, Raphinha opened the scoring after a combination with Lamine Yamal. The Brazilian, despite being absent from the list of 30 nominees for the Ballon d'Or, responded in the best possible way on the pitch.

Karim Adeyemi then doubled the lead with a superb strike from the edge of the box (22nd minute). Barça continued to control proceedings thanks to their pressing and particularly effective ball circulation.

Raphinha and Yamal seal the deal

Raphinha definitively put his side out of reach after the break. Set up by Pedri, the Brazilian perfectly curled his shot to score his second goal of the night.

Lamine Yamal then added his personal touch. The young forward scored the fourth goal from a direct free kick in the 77th minute, before turning provider a few minutes later for Gabriel Jesus, who netted Barcelona's fifth goal.

Sem Steijn salvaged some pride for Feyenoord in the 82nd minute, but Barça had already made the difference.

A clear warning for what's ahead

With five goals, an appealing attacking display and a particularly inspired Raphinha, Barcelona have started their European campaign in spectacular fashion. Hansi Flick can already gauge his team's ambitions.
