Inter Milan have no intention of stopping there. Despite an already well-advanced transfer window, the Nerazzurri are actively continuing their search to reinforce their attacking sector. The club's priority is now to sign a winger capable of bringing more pace, drive and creativity in the final thirty metres.
Having arrived on the Inter bench with great ambitions, Cristian Chivu wants a more complete squad at his disposal to defend the Serie A title and compete at the highest level in the Champions League. The Romanian coach believes his team still lacks a player capable of making the difference in one-on-one situations and creating openings against low defensive blocks.
A versatile profile sought
Several profiles are currently being assessed by the recruitment department. The club's hierarchy favour a versatile player, capable of operating on both wings as well as fitting into different tactical systems. This flexibility is considered essential to meet the demands of what promises to be a particularly busy season.
The Lombard club remains mindful of its financial balance, however. Before finalising any arrival, Inter may need to trim their squad in order to free up wage bill space and fund this new operation.
The coming weeks will be decisive
The Nerazzurri are keen to provide Cristian Chivu with one final attacking recruit before the close of the transfer window, in order to have a group capable of competing with the biggest clubs in Europe.
With an already highly competitive squad, the arrival of a top-level winger could allow Inter to take a new step forward and establish themselves as one of the main contenders for the major trophies this season.
