Mamadou Sarr is set to leave Chelsea to join Real Sociedad. The two clubs are said to have reached an agreement for the loan of the Senegalese central defender, who has himself given the green light to the move.
This transfer comes after the failed pursuit of Nayef Aguerd, who was initially targeted by the Spanish club to strengthen its defensive line. Real Sociedad ultimately turned to the young Senegalese international, with the aim of offering him more playing time in La Liga.
The loan is expected to be agreed without an option to buy, which would allow Chelsea to retain control over their defender's future.
A key step in Sarr's development
For Mamadou Sarr, this experience represents a great opportunity to reach a new level. At just 20 years old, the Senegalese defender will be able to play in a major league and gain experience at the highest level.
The goal will now be clear: establish himself in Spain in order to return to Chelsea with greater maturity, while also strengthening his place within Senegal's Lions squad.
