Paris Saint-Germain continue to explore the market to strengthen their defence. Among the profiles being monitored is Guéla Doué, the right-back from Strasbourg. The Ivorian international has won over Luis Enrique with his versatility, physical power and ability to operate within several tactical systems.
A luxury backup for Hakimi
At PSG, Doué would primarily serve as the backup for Achraf Hakimi, a position in which the club has been seeking a genuine specialist for several seasons. He could also provide cover in a back three or in a central role, offering the Spanish coach a wider range of tactical options.
His arrival would not threaten Hakimi's status, but would increase competition within the defensive unit while enabling better rotation across a very demanding fixture schedule.
A profile that ticks all the boxes
At 23 years old, the Strasbourg man has established himself as one of the best full-backs in Ligue 1 thanks to his defensive solidity, his quality in build-up play and his impact in duels — qualities that align perfectly with Luis Enrique's requirements.
Another significant asset: Guéla Doué would be reunited in Paris with his brother Désiré Doué, who is already established as one of the key players in the Parisian squad.
A deal still open
For now, PSG have not yet submitted an official offer, but the interest is very real. Should the situation accelerate, Guéla Doué could become one of the club's last signings before the start of the season.
