Nicolas Jackson could soon open a new chapter in his career. Aston Villa are reported to have submitted an offer of around 70 million euros, including bonuses, to Chelsea for the Senegalese forward. The Blues are said to be willing to accept it, although a contractual agreement with the player still needs to be reached.
This transfer could be of particular importance for Jackson. After a turbulent spell at Chelsea and a stint at Bayern Munich, the forward needs to find some continuity, and above all playing time, to get his career back on track.
Increased competition among the Lions
Because on the Senegalese national team side, nothing will be taken for granted from now on. Patrick Vieira has just been appointed as Senegal's new head coach for the next four years, opening a new page in the Lions' history.
Jackson will therefore need to convince the French coach through his performances at club level. With the next international fixtures approaching, establishing himself at Aston Villa could prove decisive in keeping his place and his status in the Senegalese attack.
