PSG-Rennes swapped: the match will finally be played in Rennes

It is now confirmed: the PSG-Rennes match of the 1st matchday of Ligue 1 will finally not be played at the Parc des Princes.

The decision was made by the LFP, in agreement with PSG and Rennes, due to the Parc des Princes pitch becoming unplayable after the heatwave episodes. The League states that its condition no longer allowed the safety of the players to be guaranteed.

PSG officially confirms that the match will take place in Rennes, while keeping the date and kick-off time originally scheduled.

A reversal, not a simple change of venue

An important point to highlight: this is not simply a change of stadium. PSG hosting the match is considered a reversal of the fixture. The Parisian club will therefore play its first matchday as the away side, in Rennes.

Direct consequence: the return match, initially scheduled in Rennes on March 6, 2027, will finally be played in Paris.
