Real Madrid continues its forward-looking strategy. After officially confirming the contract extension of Vinícius Júnior until 2032, the Spanish club has announced the signing of Yan Diomandé. At just 19 years old, the Ivorian winger leaves RB Leipzig to join the Casa Blanca on a long-term contract.
A talent that fits the Real Madrid strategy
For several years, Real Madrid has been targeting the best young talents before they break through. Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Camavinga, Bellingham and Arda Güler have all successfully followed this same path.
Yan Diomandé fits perfectly into this policy. Fast, technical and formidable in one-on-one situations, the Ivorian international is considered one of the brightest prospects in European football.
A stimulating level of competition
His arrival does not guarantee him a starting spot. With Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé and the other attacking stars at Real Madrid, the competition will be particularly fierce.
The Spanish club nonetheless sees in Diomandé a player capable of developing alongside the very best, before establishing himself as one of the faces of the next generation.
An immense source of pride for Ivory Coast
This transfer also represents excellent news for Ivorian football. Joining the most decorated club in the history of the Champions League marks a major milestone in the young winger's career.
At 19 years old, he arrives in Madrid with considerable pressure, but also a tremendous opportunity. If his adaptation is successful, Real Madrid may well have got their hands on one of the future superstars of world football.
