LOSC and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to several sources. The deal could reach 100 million euros, bonuses included, and become the biggest sale in Lille's history.
The two clubs agreed on the financial terms of the transfer after several days of negotiations. The amount mentioned is 95 million euros fixed, with a potential 5 million euros in bonuses added on top. Bouaddi is set to sign for five seasons, with an additional year in option.
Bouaddi will not play with Lille
Present in Angers with the Lille squad, the midfielder was ultimately not included for the Ligue 1 match. His departure now appears imminent.
The medical examination and contract signing are expected in the coming days, pending the final formalities. The trip to Angers could therefore well have been Bouaddi's last with LOSC.
At just 18 years old, the midfielder is about to leave the club that trained him to join Manchester City.
A historic transfer for LOSC
If the deal is confirmed as expected, Ayyoub Bouaddi will become the biggest sale in LOSC's history, ahead of Nicolas Pépé, transferred to Arsenal for 80 million euros in 2019.
The amount would also set a new record for a Ligue 1 sale abroad.
The deal is therefore no longer just a rumour: Lille and Manchester City have reached an agreement, and the final formalities should now pave the way for Bouaddi's departure to be made official.
