The group stage is entering its final stretch, and the first knockout bracket in the history of a 48-team World Cup is gradually taking shape. Several fixtures are now confirmed, while others remain dependent on the final results from Groups G through L.
The already confirmed fixtures
The first official matchups promise some very compelling clashes of styles.

Africa will be particularly well represented in this first knockout round, with several nations capable of causing an upset.
