Diego Moreira in advanced negotiations with AC Milan, a possible record for Strasbourg

FootReporter · 17 août 2026

An agreement between AC Milan and Strasbourg over the transfer of Diego Moreira is said to have been reached, according to Corriere dello Sport and RMC Sport. The player is reportedly expected in Milan to undergo his medical.

The figures mentioned vary depending on the source: around 40 million euros in fixed fee plus bonuses according to the Italian press, compared to nearly 50 million euros including bonuses and a resale clause according to the French press. In either case, it would represent a record for Strasbourg.

The Diego Moreira profile

Last season, the winger played 42 matches across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 8 assists. This substantial playing time fuelled interest from several European clubs, including AS Roma, before Moreira apparently opted to favour Milan.

For the Rossoneri, this deal addresses an identified need on the flanks under Ruben Amorim, whose system often relies on players capable of carrying the ball and accelerating play down the wings.

This deal, if confirmed, would once again illustrate Strasbourg's strategy: spot talent, develop it, then sell when its market value peaks. This is FootReporter's analysis: the Alsatian club has built an economic model around this mechanism, and Moreira would be its latest and most profitable embodiment.

It remains to be seen whether the gap between the two financial estimates narrows in the coming days, and whether the deal will be made official before the transfer window closes.
