At this stage, no agreement has been reached between the two clubs, even as speculation surrounding the future of the former Manchester City player continues to run rife.
On a sporting level, Torres' profile matches the expectations of Luis Enrique. Capable of playing on both wings or in a more central role, the 25-year-old forward would bring versatility and experience at the highest level. Since the start of the season, he has scored two goals and provided two assists in 417 minutes across all competitions — a still limited amount of playing time that is fuelling questions about his future at Barça.
Malo Gusto, Another Priority in the Parisian Transfer Window
At the same time, PSG are also closely monitoring the trail leading to Malo Gusto. The French right-back from Chelsea is among the capital club's priorities to strengthen their right flank, a profile that Luis Enrique is said to have approved. The London hierarchy, however, are proving particularly demanding in negotiations and intend not to let their defender go on the cheap.
With a few days to go before the European Super Cup, Paris is thus making progress on several files in order to bolster an already competitive squad ahead of the new season kick-off. The coming days could prove decisive, both in the Torres file and in that of Gusto.
