Létang opens the door to a Bouaddi departure if the offer is sufficient

FootReporter · 1 août 2026

Olivier Létang has lifted the veil. The Lille president confirmed that there would be a financial threshold beyond which the club would not block the departure of Ismaël Bouaddi. A rare statement, one that stands in contrast to the usual rhetoric from club executives regarding their young talents.

Bouaddi, a midfielder developed at LOSC, has established himself as one of the most closely watched profiles in French football. His consistent progression has attracted European clubs, and the question of his future has been stirring transfer market speculation for several weeks. Létang did not close the door — he simply made it conditional on a figure the club would find hard to refuse.

This statement from the Lille executive says something about the club's current management approach. Lille has built its model on developing and selling players who were either homegrown or recruited at an early stage. Holding on to a talent beyond his market value does not fit that logic. Should an offer matching their expectations arrive, Bouaddi could therefore leave the Nord this summer. The outcome will depend on whether the reported interest materialises into concrete proposals.
