The deal is moving forward rapidly. Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Ferran Torres, in an operation estimated at around 55 million euros, bonuses included. A sign that discussions are well advanced, the Spanish forward did not take part in Barcelona's training session on Wednesday, as the two clubs are now working on the final formalities.
A versatile and experienced profile
At 26 years old, Torres already boasts a solid track record at the highest level. Developed at Valencia, having passed through Manchester City before joining Barcelona in January 2022, the Spanish international is capable of playing on both wings as well as through the centre of the attack. It is precisely this versatility that has won over PSG.
His Barcelona record also demonstrates a real ability to make an impact on the game: 21 goals across all competitions during the 2025-2026 season, despite fierce competition in the Catalan club's attacking department. Without ever establishing himself as an undisputed starter, he has proved valuable in rotation, capable of being decisive from the bench and of filling several positions depending on requirements.
A logical opportunity for Luis Enrique
In Paris, the arrival of Torres would offer a new option to Luis Enrique. The Spanish coach knows the player very well and would be able to exploit his adaptability in an attacking department where competition remains intense. Torres also brings experience accumulated in the Premier League, in La Liga and in major European competitions.
The transfer has not yet been officially finalised, but the agreement in principle between the two clubs represents a decisive step. If the final formalities proceed as planned, Ferran Torres should soon be opening a new chapter in his career in Paris.
