Transfer window: PSG closes the door on new arrivals and wraps up a historic summer

FootReporter · 1 septembre 2026

Paris Saint-Germain has made its decision. The Parisian club will not sign any more players before the transfer window closes, this Tuesday, September 1st at 7:59pm in France. After considering the possibility of one last opportunity, the management decided to keep the current squad and end the summer with four reinforcements.

🔵 Four signings to strengthen the squad

PSG notably strengthened its attacking department with Ferran Torres, Mika Godts and Maghnes Akliouche, while Lucas Digne came in to provide an additional option on the left flank.

These signings have already started to settle in. Godts and Akliouche were notably in the starting lineup against Lille during the second matchday of Ligue 1, while Digne and Ferran Torres have also entered Luis Enrique's rotation.

Paris's choice is also dictated by the quality of the squad already available to Luis Enrique. After two seasons crowned by two consecutive Champions League titles, PSG wants to continue with a group deep enough to compete on all fronts.

💰 A transfer window marked by sales

It is above all on the departures side that Paris has struck hard.

Bradley Barcola joined Liverpool, while Ibrahim Mbaye signed with Aston Villa. These two deals allowed PSG to exceed 360 million euros in sales during the summer window, a record for the club.

Previously, Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani and Kang-in Lee had also left Paris. This policy allows the club to significantly improve its balance on the transfer market, while giving more responsibility to the players already present and to young talents coming from its own environment.

⏳ Renato Sanches, the last case

While the Parisian transfer window is therefore finished in terms of arrivals, one last departure could still take place.

Renato Sanches, under contract until 2027 and who does not fit into Luis Enrique's plans, remains likely to leave the club in the final hours.

For the rest, Paris is expected to remain quiet until the market closes.

  • 🔵 4 signings
  • 💰 Over €360M in sales
  • 🚪 Barcola and Mbaye, the two latest big sales
  • Renato Sanches, the last case still open

PSG thus concludes a transfer window that illustrates a change in model: less focus on chasing stars, more depth, young talents and above all a newfound ability to develop and sell its players.
