Nicolas Jackson is edging closer to Aston Villa. Chelsea and the Birmingham club have reached an agreement for a transfer worth up to £65 million, including £47.5m guaranteed and £17.5m in add-ons.
The Senegalese striker is now heading to Birmingham to undergo his medical, the final step before the deal is finalised. The last details of his contract still need to be settled.
A striker reunited with Unai Emery
Jackson, who previously worked under Unai Emery at Villarreal, is coming off a loan spell at Bayern Munich, where he scored 11 goals in 34 matches and won the Bundesliga.
Ollie Watkins' successor
His arrival comes as Ollie Watkins nears a move to Al-Hilal, for around £51m. Jackson is therefore set to become Aston Villa's new spearhead in attack.
At 25 years old, the Senegalese is preparing to open a new chapter in the Premier League, two years after joining Chelsea.
