Tottenham looking to make a major statement with Savinho and Marmoush

Tottenham has moved up a gear. Spurs are negotiating with Manchester City to sign Savinho and Omar Marmoush simultaneously, in a deal that could reach 140 to 150 million pounds. No final agreement has been reached yet, but talks between the two clubs are now well advanced.

Tottenham's interest in Savinho is nothing new. It dates back to 2025, when the Brazilian winger ultimately chose to stay at Manchester City. His situation has changed since then, however: last season, he was only named in the starting eleven seven times in the Premier League, with playing time that no longer really matches his status. City signed him in 2024 from Troyes for around 30 million pounds.

The Marmoush card

The Omar Marmoush deal is just as significant. Signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for around 59 million pounds, the Egyptian forward endured a mixed first full season at Manchester City. He finished the 2025-2026 campaign with 8 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, including three in the Premier League.

His output was limited by competition for places and by Pep Guardiola's tactical choices. Tottenham now sees him as a solution capable of bringing more variety and thrust to an attack that badly lacked efficiency last season.

The cost of the operation could be considerable. The latest estimates put the entire Savinho-Marmoush deal at around 140 to 150 million pounds. Manchester City would logically be looking to preserve the value of its two players, but negotiations have yet to result in a final agreement.

Tottenham wants to rebuild its attack

This offensive push is part of a particularly ambitious transfer window for Tottenham. Spurs have already invested heavily in midfield, notably with the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, for a combined amount close to 185 million pounds.

The attacking department is now the priority. Tottenham scored only 48 goals in 38 matchdays last season and finished in 17th place in the Premier League. The new London project must therefore quickly gain firepower up front.

Tottenham is also working on the Cody Gakpo deal, but the club must juggle several costly offensive operations at the same time.

For Manchester City, these discussions could also allow the club to continue reshaping its squad following several significant departures, notably those of Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.

Tottenham wants to make a major statement. With Savinho and Marmoush, Spurs could pull off one of the biggest offensive moves of this transfer window.
